Admissions

General Requirements

 

Future University welcomes undergraduate degree applicants for both fall and spring semesters. Students eligible for applying according to our Admission Policy and interested in our undergraduate programs are welcome to apply through any of the following methods:

*      Regular Admission

All students are welcome to apply through regular admission. Non Egyptian or Egyptian students with international certificates whose exam results are announced late will be permitted to apply for regular admission after the regular admission deadlines depending on the dates of their exam results. However it is advised that in such cases, students apply for early admission. For deadlines and procedures please refer to the Admissions Office.

*      Early Admission

Due to the limited number of students to be admitted at Future University, students in their final secondary school year are encouraged to apply for Early Admission. This will give them priority in reserving a place at Future University up to 10 days after secondary school results, on condition that they fulfill all secondary school graduation requirements and meet all Future University admission requirements.

*      Admission Policy

Future University accepts students holding:

  • The Egyptian General Secondary Certificate of Education (Thanawya Amma) (Arts, Math or Science) and Thanawya Amma from other Arab countries.
  •  The American High School Diploma
  •  The French Secondary School Certificate (Baccalaureat de L Enseignement Secondaire)
  • The German Secondary School Certificate / Abitur.
  • The British Secondary School Certificates (GCSE, IGCSE)
  •  The International Baccalaureate

*      Required Official Documents

Thanawya Amma from Egypt and other Arab Countries

1.    Thanawya Amma Certificate original document, as no certified copies will be accepted.

2.    Sometimes the proof of 11 years of schooling will be required (please refer to the admission office)stamped by the school and certified by the educational zone the school belongs to.

3.    If the poof of 11 years of schooling is obtained from a foreign country, the stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo is required along with the school stamp, the stamp of the educational zone and Egyptian Embassy in that foreign country.

According to the regulations of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, all students who have an Egyptian nationality holding foreign high school certificates and who did not take Thanawya Amma Arabic Language and Religion exams during their high school MUST sit for and obtain a passing grade in the Thanawya Amma Arabic Language and Religion exams prior to graduating from the university. It is the students responsibility to ensure their Future University file is complete with all required originals.

FUE will not be held responsible for the registration of students with missing original documents submitted after the announced deadlines.

The American High School Diploma

1.      Final high school transcript stamped by the school, CITA (or relevant U.S. Institution) and certified by the Egyptian Embassy (cultural attach) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo.

2.      The official transcript must show a minimum of 8 courses (one unit each), including the qualifying subjects for a chosen faculty, all of which should have been passed in the 12th level and the 11th level

3.      Diploma stamped by the school, CITA (or relevant U.S. institution) and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo.

4.      Official (SAT I) scores stamped by AMID-EAST.

5.      Preparatory Certificate & evidence that student has passed 3 years of schooling after, or comparable proof of eleven years of schooling.

6.      For American Diploma certificates obtained from any country other than Egypt or the USA, an accreditation letter from AMID-EAST is required.

The French Secondary School (Baccalaureat de L' Enseignement Secondaire)

Applicants must submit the certificate showing scores obtained (at least passable) and should particularly satisfy the qualifying subjects required by each faculty. Applications will be processed according to Future University general admission evaluation criteria.

The British Secondary School Certificates (GCSE, IGCSE)

1.    Applicants are required to submit 8 (OL) subjects with a minimum grade of C or 7 Subjects at (OL) + one subject at (AL) or (ASL), with a minimum grade of C at (OL) and grade (E) at (AL) or (ASL) subjects.

2.    IGCSE slips stamped by the British Council as true documents only (no other stamp can replace the British Council stamp) certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo.

3.    Students must succeed in at least eight subjects in the O. level (minimum grade C).

4.    Edadeya Certificate or proof of 11 years of schooling stamped by the school and certified by the Educational Zone the school belongs to.

5.    If the proof of 11 years of schooling is obtained from a foreign country, the stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo is required after the school stamp and the stamp of the Educational Zone and the Egyptian Embassy in that foreign country is required as well.

The International Baccalaureate

Applicants must have completed the Baccalaureate and satisfied its general requirements. The applicant must also satisfy the qualifying subjects for admission to The Future University's various faculties as long as he/she has passed the basic 6 subjects stated in the certificate, of which at least three should be advanced Level.

Future University accepts other equivalent secondary school certificates accredited by The Supreme Council of
Egyptian Universities and other concerned authorities. (Please contact the Future University Admissions Office for any related inquiries).

Required Documents for all Faculties

  • Future University Application Form

  • Secondary school certificate(s)

  • A photocopy of passport or national ID

  • A photocopy of legal guardians national ID or passport

  • Original birth certificate or a certified copy

  • Proof of minimum11 years' schooling

  • 12 Passport size photos

  • All Egyptian males must provide their Military Service Documents (Namouzag 2 Gond and Namouzag 6 Gond).

English Placement Test

All new students applying for admission at FUE must take the English Placement Test (EPT) and achieve the required English proficiency level before they can enroll in English language credit courses. Students will be placed according to their scores in 
an English language course as follows:

Note:

  •  Students holding a valid international TOEFL certificate with an equivalent score of 550 and above are exempt from the placement test.
  • Students who fail the English Placement Test (EPT) are required to complete and pass a remedial course (Eng 90 – Basic English) over a period of one semester.
  • The student is not eligible to take the English Placement Test unless they have paid and provided a personal photo.
 
 

*    Requirements for Transfer Students 

Transfer from other Universities

  •  The transfer student must fulfill FUE admission requirements including the attainment of high school certificate with a score complying with the Supreme Council of Egyptian Private Universities regulations for the year during which the certificate was obtained.
  • The student must submit official transcripts of the courses taken with detailed course descriptions stamped from an accredited university, including the credit hours and grades achieved.
  • Upon final acceptance at FUE, the student will be requested to submit a withdrawal letter from the previous university.
  • Courses that will be accepted to be transferred must be substantially the same in both content and quality to that of FUE courses.

 

Transferring from one FUE Faculty to Another

  • Transfer from an FUE faculty to another is only available within two weeks from the beginning of the semester during the Add / Drop period.
  • Students who wish to transfer from on faculty to another must obtain the approval of both the Dean and the academic advisor. Students score should be compatible with the score required by the faculty they want to join.

 

*      Classification of Students

A student who has earned fewer than 30 semester hours of faculty credit is classified as a freshman. A student who has earned 30 or more hours is classified as a sophomore. A student enrolled for at least 12 semester hours in a regular term or at least 4 semester hours in a summer term is considered full-time.

 

*      University Core Requirements
